JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Impulse, Inc. has an immediate opening for a PACKAGING OPERATOR in Huntsville, AL. The PACKAGING OPERATOR is responsible for various tasks related to the processing and packaging of pharmaceutical products, ensuring compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs), customer requirements, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Responsibilities and Job Requirements of a PACKAGING OPERATOR:

  1. Machine Operation: Operate and control packaging machinery, including but not limited to filling machines, labeling equipment, and packaging lines.
  2. Quality Control: Monitor the packaging process to ensure products meet quality standards and specifications. Conduct regular inspections of packaging materials and finished goods.
  3. Setup and Adjustments: Set up and adjust packaging equipment for different products and packaging materials. Troubleshoot and resolve any operational issues that may arise during production.
  4. Material Handling: Handle and maintain inventory of packaging materials, such as boxes, labels, and wrapping materials. Ensure adequate stock levels to support production schedules.
  5. Documentation: Record production and packaging data accurately. Complete necessary paperwork and documentation related to the packaging process.
  6. Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols. Identify and report any safety hazards or concerns promptly.
  7. Cleaning and Maintenance: Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of packaging machinery to ensure optimal performance. Report any equipment malfunctions or defects for timely repair.
  8. Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other team members, including machine operators, quality control personnel, and supervisors, to achieve production goals.
  9. Efficiency Improvement: Suggest and implement process improvements to enhance packaging efficiency and reduce waste.

REQUIRED Experience and Education:

Education & Experience

  • High school Diploma or GED, required. - Knowledge of discrete batch manufacturing in the pharmaceutical or related field, preferred.

Knowledge

  • Knowledge of or the ability to learn cGMP regulations and processes. - Basic computer skills, including data entry. - Knowledge of or ability to learn SAP or other Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) experience highly desired.

Skills & Abilities

  • Basic math, writing skills, and problem-solving abilities. - Ability to learn and apply company SOPs. - Effective communication skills. - Ability to record information and review reports. - Ability to learn and perform Master Clean/Surface clean. - Ability to learn packaging processes, including material handling, outserts/med guides, in-process checks, packing, stacking, and the 6S processes.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to stand for long periods (up to 12-hour shifts). - Lift at least 50 pounds. - Climb ladders. - Wear a respirator and pass associated tests. - Wear all required PPE, including safety glasses, earplugs, and safety shoes. - Dexterity, vision, hearing, and multi-limb coordination as required for the role.
