Procurement Specialist
Job Description
Our Government client is seeking a Procurement Specialist to join their team on an on-site basis in Ottawa, ON. To be considered for this position, you will need at least 2 years of experience conducting procurement tasks within a government department environment in the past three years. About You
To be considered, you will need:
- 24 months of experience conducting procurement tasks within a DND environment (within the last 3 years).
- Current working knowledge of the DND procurement process, including methods for procuring inside and outside a Delegation of Authority.
- Experience providing procurement, contracting, and materiel management services for low to medium complexity files.
- Strong ability to analyze procurement and financial data, input information into departmental systems, and generate reports.
- Knowledge of procurement policies, best practices, and compliance requirements.
- Ability to provide financial administrative support, including processing invoices and managing surplus asset disposal.
- Problem-solving skills to find creative solutions for complex procurement cases.
- Secret-level security clearance (or eligibility to obtain it).
About the Role
If hired, you will:
- Provide procurement, contracting, and materiel management services for low to medium complexity files.
- Advise management and stakeholders on procurement policies and best practices.
- Input and analyze materiel management data within departmental systems.
- Assist with financial administration, including budget reporting, invoice processing, and surplus asset disposal.
- Solve complex procurement challenges and ensure mission-critical objectives are met.
