Job Description
Our federal government client is seeking a Software Developer to join their team on a full-time basis in Ottawa, ON. To be considered for this position, you will need 5+ years of experience in software design and implementation. Keep on reading to learn more.
About you
To be considered, you will need:
- A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or computer science from a Canadian University, or an equivalent from a foreign institution as determined by the Canadian Centre for International Credentials.
- 5+ years (60 months) of work experience in software design and implementation within the last 10 years (120 months).
- 5+ years (60 months) of work experience in the planning, testing, and evaluation of communication protocols using Radio Frequency (RF) laboratory equipment within the last 10 years (120 months).
- Have or is able to acquire Secret-level security clearance
About the role
If hired, you will:
- Design detailed programs, flow charts, and diagrams indicating mathematical computation and sequence of machine operations necessary to control laboratory equipment, process data, and store results.
- Translate detailed flow charts into coded machine instructions and confer with technical personnel in planning programs.
- Verify accuracy and completeness of programs by preparing sample data and testing them through system acceptance test runs.
- Correct program errors by revising instructions or altering the sequence of operations.
- Document software architectures, flow charts, data formats, and operating procedures.
- Evaluate the performance of communications ECM systems using an automated software control application.
- Meet with staff to determine ECM loadset requirements and then develop & implement loadsets on ECM equipment.
- Define and document software requirements.
- Design and implement hardware control applications for sensors and/or laboratory measurement equipment.
- Establish and maintain software configuration management processes.
- Develop and maintain software documentation, including design documents and user manuals.
- Perform other software developer-related tasks as requested.
